This group of pages shows something of the history of the Leeds Festival Chorus, from the first festival in 1858 through the long period when the Chorus was an ad-hoc group formed for each triennial festival to the permanent body of today.
Most of the material on these pages first appeared in the form of a booklet, Celebration 2008, written at the time of the 150th anniversary of Leeds Town Hall (and hence Leeds Festival Chorus) by Richard Wilcocks, a bass in the Chorus.
We welcome any additional material - programmes, photographs, reminiscences, etc. - that would flesh out the story further. Please contact if you think you can help.Previous page: History
