Our Music

Ever since the Chorus was founded in 1858 its repertoire has included a number of new works (commissioned by the Leeds Music Festival or, in more recent times, by the Chorus itself).  On these pages you can find the music we have sung since 1995, a list of premières sung since the Chorus was founded and a list of recordings featuring the Chorus.

It is ten days since I heard a wonderful performance of Elgar's Dream of Gerontius @leedsphil @the_halle @LFChorus and I am still haunted by it, despite working on & listening to much music since then. A real masterpiece.

Exactly one month until we become the first School orchestra to perform #Mahler Symphony No. 8 @BridgewaterHall - with partners from @StGeorgesSinger @LFChorus @WellsCathSchool @HerefordCS and many more. Join us on 5 July or on @BBCRadio3!

"[Simon] Wright’s skilful layering of textures achieved impeccable balance and illuminated Elgar’s vast musical canvas."

On Saturday in Leeds I heard a wonderful performance of his masterpiece, The Dream of Gerontius. Superb playing from @the_halle @leedsphil @LFChorus @SPSLeeds . Captivating from start to finish. https://t.co/saPty9quBf

The closing concert of @LeedsConcerts Orchestral Season on Saturday had it all - an excellent orchestra, top soloists, a renowned conductor, amazing choral singers, the magnificent organ and a full audience. What a way to close the 2018/19 season!
