Social events

The Chorus runs a full programme of social events for the benefit of members and friends and to raise additional funds for our music making. Past events include wine evenings, garden parties, fireworks evenings, plant and produce sales and talks about music.

Auction of Promises 2008 Here’s your chance to bid for some really exciting or totally useful offers: a visit from our enthusiastic gardeners, use of cottages for holiday breaks, some book-keeping advice, a chocolate cake made specially for you and many, many more lovely things. Chorus members and Friends have submitted promises to be auctioned to raise funds for the Chorus. They are packed together in the 13 page Auction of Promises 2008 booklet that has been compiled by the LFC Fund Raising & Social Committee. Full details of how to bid are included. You don’t have to attend on a specific day to bid – just submit your sealed bid by post. You can bid for as many things as you like. The bidding is open to everyone. Bids will be accepted up to and including Wednesday 18th June and the results will be announced on Wednesday 2nd July at 9.40pm at West Park Centre, Spen Lane, Leeds, during the wine evening after the LFC rehearsal. Leeds Festival Chorus Summer Barbeque Event (FRASC) Please come along with friends or partners to this last social event of the year organised by the Fund Raising and Social Committee. Our Summer BBQ this year will be held in Weetwood on Saturday July 5th at 7pm. It is always a wonderful evening. The sun always shines and you will be in a beautiful setting where there is plenty of room for the ferocious Boule Tournament. We promise sumptuous food, including the normal BBQ fare but delicious salads and puddings too. It's the perfect chance to relax in good company and support your choir. Tickets will be on sale at rehearsal next Wednesday June 18th and are £12.00 per person. All friends and members are most welcome.
