Social Events

As well as ensuring that the chorus is a sociable as well as a musical organisation, the Fund Raising and Social Committee (FRASC) works hard to help ensure that the chorus fulfils its fundraising commitment as a charity.  FRASC raises between £7,000 and £8,000 per year (with the help of the chorus, of course!) through produce sales, challenges, raffles and the like, but also has lots of fun in the process.  For example, during the 2014 – 2015 season, we organised or helped organise a wine bluff evening, a walking treasure hunt, an autumn guided walk, and the always eagerly anticipated annual BBQ and Boules contest.

FRASC’s motto is “Never Knowingly Underfed” and so you can be sure that where the FRASC team is, there will be food – whether this be an afternoon tea of scones and cakes following a walk, or a delicious supper during an evening event.

We also organise a monthly wine evening, setting up a bar at St Chad’s straight after the rehearsal so that everyone has a chance to meet other members of the chorus over a drink.

Help raise funds for the chorus!

As well as ensuring that the chorus is a sociable as well as a musical organisation, the Fund Raising and Social Committee (FRASC) works hard to help ensure that the chorus fulfils its fundraising commitment as a charity.  You can help us in a number of ways that require very little effort!  As well as the main fundraiser each year, you can raise funds simply by shopping online through the easyfundraising.org.uk website or by giving us things that we can sell on Ebay (LFC Sell Your Stuff).

For further information contact the social committee.
