About LYC
Leeds Youth Choir welcomes young singers, male and female, aged 13+, to a friendly group of about 30 singers. The choir sings a wide range of music, from popular songs and musicals to classical works, and takes part in three or more concerts each year in Leeds and Yorkshire.
Choir rehearsals are from 7.00 to 8.30pm each Thursday in term time at Oxford Place Methodist Church (next to the Town Hall). New members are welcome to come along to a rehearsal to "try it out" before joining. Enjoyment of singing is the main requirement - specialist singing tutors help choir members to learn the skills needed.

LYC concerts
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - The Choir have been invited to perform in the Final Concert of the Mrs Sunderland Competitive Festival on Saturday 25 February - following their win of their class last year. This is only the second time a Youth Choir has been invited to participate.
You can hear the Leeds Youth Choir at the following events this summer:
- Wednesday 8th December
Leeds Town Hall - Saturday 19 May - Leeds Parish Church
- Wednesday 30 May - Leeds Town Hall. Diamond Jubilee Concert in association with various school choirs, and the orchestra of Opera North. Dame Janet Baker will be attending this special event.
- Saturday 16 June - Oxford Place Chapel - End of Year concert.
