To mount the kind of concerts that the Leeds Festival Chorus does several times a year is extremely expensive. Though the members of the chorus themselves do not get paid (and indeed the vast majority pay an annual subscription), the professional musicians that are neccessary for a great perfomance do require payment. Then there is the hire of the music, the hire of the halls, the publicity, the production and printing of the programmes...
All these add to the costs. Even if we sell every seat at a concert we put on, we are still likely to make a loss. Hence we need to raise considerable sums elsewhere to allow us to perform at all.
To this end we have:
-
patrons (both corporate and individual)
-
social events to raise money
-
the Friends of Leeds Festival Chorus
all of whom provide essential financial support.
Please do what you can to help us by participating in one of these; details may be found on the appropriate page.
