Fundraising calendar raises money for the Chorus & St. Gemma’s Hospice

Chorus member Mary Crothers writes about the process of producing the calendar:

During the pandemic I knew that several members of Leeds Festival Chorus were spending time creating art works, and I thought that it might be inspiring and uplifting to produce a calendar to raise funds for both ourselves and St. Gemma’s Hospice. June Apps - whose husband John sings with the Chorus - generously offered financial support towards the printing costs and this gave me the confidence to go ahead and request images: hundreds were submitted, and the Chorus voted online from a shortlist of 30+ artworks and photos. Chris Woods, across the Pennines, and myself in Leeds then designed the layout online. It was great to finally ‘click and collect’ the calendars and with the support of our Fundraising and Social Committee they sold out online within weeks.

We are really pleased that our donation of £200 will be contributing in a very small way to St. Gemma’s - whether towards 3 course meals at £10 each or maybe memory boxes for bereaved children at £5 .

Looking forward to enjoying our calendar and to producing not just calendars but concerts in 2021.
