His Honour Norman Jones became a patron of LFC in 2012, being introduced to us by our then chairman David Salter. He attended many of our concerts over the years with his wife Trudy.
In his professional life as a criminal barrister turned circuit judge, he presided over the trial of the Yorkshire Ripper hoaxer known as ‘Wearside Jack’ and earlier defended Donald Neilson in the ‘Black Panther’ trial.
Our sympathies have been sent to his wife Trudy and their three children who he was devoted to. His funeral was held last week at St Oswald’s Church, Guiseley. LFC was represented by Margaret Mara.
