Chorus looks forward to weekend away in Giggleswick

  Thursday, 27 October 2022

Six months on from our last excursion, when we travelled to Winchester to perform Richard Blackwood’s stunning Pieta, Leeds Festival Chorus is heading off on another expedition, this time to the Yorkshire Dales.

Our destination is Giggleswick school in Settle, where we will spend the weekend learning new music and training with our fabulous conductor and artistic director, Simon Wright. We are also lucky enough to be working with soprano Lynne Dawson, who will be leading vocal sessions with the choir.

All this hard work will stand us in very good stead as we move through our 2022/23 season, which began earlier this month with an eclectic musical spectacular at York’s Barbican Centre and culminates with a performance of Verdi’s Requiem at Sheffield City Hall, alongside the Halle and Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus!
